Attendees can look forward to musical performances, cultural and art exhibitions, indigenous African food delights, fashion and design showcases, and more.
At the launch over the weekend, media personality and organizing team member Abeiku Aggrey Santana delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the festival’s significance. “I’m particularly excited for the launch of the Afrobeach Festival, which is a testament to the rich culture and heritage of Ghana, especially the people of La Dade Kotopon and its environs,” he said.

Citing former President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, he said, “We face neither east nor west but forward,” to underscore the festival’s forward-looking vision.
He reiterated that the Afrobeach Festival, with its rich program and commitment to cultural and environmental stewardship, is poised to become a premier global event, celebrating the best of African heritage and paving the way for sustainable coastal tourism.
Member of Parliament for La Dade Kotopon, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, urged the public to patronize the event, highlighting its importance in promoting Ghanaian culture and boosting tourism.
She also encouraged eligible new voters to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise and to exercise their voting rights peacefully before, during, and after the December polls.
The Kpeshie Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odonkor Baah pledged coordinated efforts between the districts within the Kpeshie Division to ensure comprehensive protection before, during, and after the events. He urged festival attendees to comply with all security measures.

Veteran actor, Fred Amugi, has urged his fellow men to learn how to cook and not rely on women.
According to him, if most men were able to cook, this with ease, no woman can starve men.
He made this bold statement on GTV’s Breakfast Show, where he revealed that his signature dish is okro stew, which he uniquely prepares using coconut oil instead of the traditional palm oil.
‘The okro stew was often served with rice, highlighting his versatility in pairing dishes’.
He stated that his passion for cooking dates back to his childhood. He began cooking at the age of 9, when his mother would assign him cooking duties for specific weeks.
On other days, she would have him observe while she cooks, teaching him valuable skills.
Mr Amugi’s expertise extends beyond okro stew; he revealed he can also pound and turn fufu independently, showcasing his proficiency in the traditional Ghanaian cuisine.
Amugi further recounted how his father would often tell him what the girls could do, he should be able to do too and that he said has helped him.

Fiifi Coleman Productions brings timeless classic to the National Theatre on June 6 with six shows in three days.
Ghana’s finest production firm, Fiifi Coleman Productions is proud to announce the return of one of Ghana’s most powerful plays, ‘The Dilemma of a Ghost’ by Ama Ata Aidoo, to the stage.
The production opens on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the National Theatre of Ghana, with six performances spread across the weekend.
The show features an all-star cast, led by two of Ghana’s most respected actors, David Dontoh and Fred Amugi.
They’re joined by well-known names like Adjetey Anang, Gadede Segbefia, and Fiifi Coleman, who also directs the production.
This is a story that still speaks to realities of today.
Originally written in 1965, The Dilemma of a Ghost tells the story of Ato, a young Ghanaian man who returns home after studying abroad—with his African American wife, Eulalie.
The couple soon finds themselves caught between two worlds: the
expectations of Ato’s traditional Ghanaian family and the modern values they bring with them.
“This story feels just as relevant today,” says director Fiifi Coleman. “It’s about identity, family, culture, and finding your place in the world—things we’re all still figuring out in Ghana and across the African diaspora.”
The play’s themes reflect ongoing conversations in Ghana, especially as more people from the diaspora visit or return to reconnect with their roots.
It also touches on important issues like gender roles, family pressure, and cultural misunderstandings
—making it a must-see for audiences young and old.
A cast full of experience and talent
With David Dontoh and Fred Amugi leading the way, this production promises to be both moving and memorable.
Their decades of experience bring deep emotion to the story’s family struggles. Adjetey Anang and Roselyn Ngissah round out the cast, bringing charm, power, and authenticity to their roles.
