Peter Sedufia announces production of “One Night Guests” in Lagos

Acclaimed Ghanaian filmmaker, Peter Sedufia, along with his production team, hosted a press conference on Tuesday at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos to officially announce the commencement of production for his latest film, One Night Guests.
The highly anticipated movie will be shot on location in Lagos throughout August and is slated for a grand premiere on Christmas Day, 2024.

The press conference, which brought together media, industry insiders, and fans, also featured appearances by the film’s talented cast, hailing from both Ghana and Nigeria.
The ensemble cast promises to deliver a captivating performance in this cross-cultural production, blending the finest elements of West African cinema.
The star-studded cast includes notable actors from both Nigeria and Ghana, such as Chidi Mokeme, Ini Edo, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, Warri Pikin, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Lasisi Elenu, and Akah Nnani. These celebrated talents promise to bring the film’s thrilling narrative to life, making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

In his address to the media, Peter Sedufia shared his excitement about the project, stating, “Lagos is the perfect backdrop for One Night Guests. The energy, the vibrancy, and the cultural richness of this city are unmatched.
This film is not just a story; it’s an experience that brings together two of Africa’s most dynamic film industries—Nigeria and Ghana.”
Sedufia went on to discuss the film’s themes and narrative, revealing that One Night Guests is a suspenseful drama that explores the intricacies of human relationships and the unexpected twists of fate that can change lives in an instant.
“This movie will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.It’s a story about chance encounters and the profound impact they can have on our lives. We’re pushing the boundaries of storytelling with this project, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created,” he revealed.
The director also emphasized the importance of collaboration in bringing this film to life,”Working with such a diverse and talented team from both Ghana and Nigeria has been an incredible experience. The synergy we’ve built is reflected in the quality of the production, and I’m confident that One Night Guests will resonate with audiences across the continent and beyond.”
The movie project is a partnership produced by the Nigerian Producer, Chris Odeh, who also spoke on the collaboration, stating that the idea was to create an African Christmas movie that will resonate well with people, so when the director shared this idea with him, he didn’t hesitate to jump on it to make it a reality.
According to him they have made every necessary arrangement to ensure they deliver and therefore urged everyone to check the movie when it’s out in the cinemas.
One Night Guests will be simultaneously premiered in Nigeria and Ghana on Christmas Day, 2024, with screenings in cinemas across both countries. This dual premiere is set to be a major event, celebrating the unity and cultural exchange between the two nations.
The director, Peter Sedufia is a prolific writer, producer, and director from Ghana, West Africa. With a diverse filmography encompassing four feature films, a self-financed television series, and three commissioned series for M-Net/Multichoice, Sedufia has established himself as a leading voice in West African cinema.
His debut feature, “Keteke,” garnered international acclaim, securing nominations and selections at over twenty film festivals worldwide, and claiming seven prestigious awards. Notably, his films such as “Aloevera”, “Side Chic Gang” and “Ketete” have found a global audience, streaming on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Canal Plus.
Following the press conference, the production team confirmed that shooting will begin immediately in various locations across Lagos. The film’s release is expected to draw significant attention, marking another milestone in Sedufia’s illustrious career.
One Night Guests is directed by Peter Sedufia and produced by OldFilm Productions (Ghana), Sozo Films (Nigeria), and Gravel Road Studios (South Africa).

The Miss Natural Beauty Ghana pageant has been launched in Accra over the weekend with the aim to promote self-love, health and celebration of nature among women.
It is organised by Kente Business Journal, a media company based in Ghana and Seattle with the first event launched in 2023.
Pageant Director Madam Grace Ayishetu Hamidu-Musa said Miss Natural Beauty Africa was a competition that meant to challenge women, especially of African descent, to accept themselves to accept their natural being as they are.
Looking ahead, Ms. Musa shared the broader vision, “Our vision is to expand to all African countries and also include Africans living in the diaspora. We’re looking to a future where we can hold Miss Natural Beauty Nigeria, Miss Natural Beauty Kenya, Miss Natural Beauty South Africa, and many more. We believe that when you educate a woman, you educate a nation,”she explained
Aside the 2025 launch, organisers also unveiled the Miss Natural Beauty Africa magazine, a new platform that will share inspiring stories, beauty tips, and content around natural living and wellness.
Registration for the 2025 edition opened on May 30 and will close on July 31. Auditions will take place in August, and the main event will run through to December.
The grand finale is scheduled for December 28, aligning with Ghana’s “December in GH” season, which draws visitors from around the world.

2024 Miss Tourism Ghana, Lawrencia Ama Yeboah, thrilled the world with breathtaking performances at the recently concluded Miss Orient Tourism Global pageant in Malaysia.
Her mind-blowing performance earned her the 2nd runner-up slot and other accolades at Miss Orient Tourism.
Miss Orient Tourism Global is a beauty pageant focused on promoting tourism and celebrating global unity and cultural diversity.
Speaking to The Spectator after the event, Miss Tourism 2024, Lawrencia Ama Yeboah said, it is a dream come true and honour to represent her beloved Ghana on a global stage.
She said, from “May 18 to 24, I immersed myself in the vibrant culture of Malaysia for the Miss Orient Tourism Global pageant, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve returned home as the Second Runner-Up. It was an absolute dream come true, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we, as Ghana, achieved.
According to her, the week was a whirlwind of unforgettable moments,adding that they kicked things off with glamorous evening gown and swimwear photoshoots, which were her first real taste of the international spotlight.
“However,it was during the National Costume competition that my heart truly swelled with pride. I poured my soul into showcasing Ghana’s rich heritage, and standing there in our beautiful traditional attire, I was absolutely ecstatic to be named the First Runner-Up for Best National Costume.It felt like a win for every Ghanaian, a testament to our incredible artistry,” she revealed.
Recounting how her experience commenced, she told the paper “Our journey took us from the historical charm of Melaka to the bustling energy of Kuala Lumpur, where we settled into the luxurious Royal Chulan Damansara. The excitement continued at the KL Gateway Mall, where subsidiary awards were presented. I was genuinely humbled and delighted to be awarded Miss Crowning Glory.”
The grand finale on May 23,2025 was electrifying considering the fierce competition, however, Miss Tourism Ghana became overjoyed to win another sash as the Second Runner-Up Miss Photogenic, proving that Ghana’s beauty truly shines.
Excitement reached its crescendo when she was called again as the overall Second Runner-Up of Miss Orient Tourism Global.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Miss Tourism Ghana Organisation, Mrs. Delphine Brew-Hammond, expressed appreciation to GTP, Tang Palace Hotel, NASCO, Kaya Tours, Lush Hair, and Max Beauty, among others, for helping project Ghana’s cultural heritage on the international stage.

Veteran actor, Fred Amugi, has urged his fellow men to learn how to cook and not rely on women.
According to him, if most men were able to cook, this with ease, no woman can starve men.
He made this bold statement on GTV’s Breakfast Show, where he revealed that his signature dish is okro stew, which he uniquely prepares using coconut oil instead of the traditional palm oil.
‘The okro stew was often served with rice, highlighting his versatility in pairing dishes’.
He stated that his passion for cooking dates back to his childhood. He began cooking at the age of 9, when his mother would assign him cooking duties for specific weeks.
On other days, she would have him observe while she cooks, teaching him valuable skills.
Mr Amugi’s expertise extends beyond okro stew; he revealed he can also pound and turn fufu independently, showcasing his proficiency in the traditional Ghanaian cuisine.
Amugi further recounted how his father would often tell him what the girls could do, he should be able to do too and that he said has helped him.
